Representative Silcox took the lead on the long-term economic health of our state by improving transit opportunities for Georgians statewide. The mass transit bill paves the way for transit expansions in Fulton and twelve other metro Atlanta counties.
For the first time since the recession, the General Assembly passed legislation to ensure the state fully funds Georgia’s Quality Basic Education formula (QBE.) These funds will provide local school systems with 100 percent of the state’s share in financing for local schools.
The Georgia General Assembly passed an income tax cut for the first time since 1937. The 10% income tax cut is fiscally responsible and the right thing to do for taxpayers.
As our State Representative, Rep. Silcox sponsored legislation to bring significant property tax relief to Fulton County homeowners by creating a “floating homestead exemption.” Her legislation prevents uncontrolled reassessments.
